One of my husband's many endearing qualities is that he always has a hankie on him. Anytime I need to sneeze or wipe my hands, he is prepared in such a gentleman-like manner.
His supply through the years has diminished and I wanted to get him some personalized ones for our anniversary. After searching, I couldn't find the right one for the right price.
So I set out to make him some.
I found a 13 pack of white cotton handkerchiefs in the department store for under $20.
The embroidery floss is a Michael's steal that I got on clearance.
After laundering + ironing them, I printed my designs up on a sheet of paper and traced the design on the handkerchief.
The embroidery floss I used was a bit too thick for this cotton, so I took out 2 strands and looped them on the needle.
I back-stitched around the penciled design and made sure to tie the ends up neatly.
Now my dearest can take a piece of me wherever he goes.

That's pretty cool! My mom used to embroider my sister and my initials in my hankies so we don't get them mixed up ;)

Awww! Happy Anniversary! And what a sweet way to take a piece of you with him throughout his day! I lived in Japan and the use of hankies was prevalent. I just miss that here.
